We know you have some burning questions… we are always happy to help! These are some of the most Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ). If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to ask and we will continue to update this page regularly to keep everyone informed.

What should I pack?
  • You’re there for 4 days and 3 nights so pack accordingly
  • The venue offers bedding (mattress, top sheet, comforter, and a pillow) for a $10 charge
  • Bring games, instruments, or items for the altar

What time do I need to be where?

Arrival time is really important, we are asking that you arrive between 1-3pm and no earlier to respect the event that is finishing before our retreat begins. If you believe you’ll be arriving outside of that time then please let us know.

What airport should I fly into?

There are a few airports you might fly into:

  • SFO – San Francisco International Airport is approximately 100 miles or a 2 1/2 hour drive from the venue.
  • OAK – Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport is approximately 100 miles or a 2 1/2 hour drive from the venue.
  • SJC – San Jose Mineta International Airport approximately 130 miles or a 3 hour drive from the venue.
  • STS – Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport is approximately 30 miles or a 1 hour drive from the venue.
  • SMF – Sacramento International Airport is approximately 140 miles or a 3 hour drive from the venue.

It is imperative that you:

  • arrive at the retreat center NO LATER than 3:00pm Friday October 9th

These times are crucial to the full experience of the retreat. Please keep this in mind as you book your flights and arrange your carpools and/or rental cars. Be conscientious of traffic, potential delays, etc.

How do I arrange carpool?

Lots of attendees are coming from near and far. Connect with each other on the Discord Page as well as the private 2026 NextGEN Retreat Attendees discord. Additionally, get in touch so we can hear your needs and determine how we can help.

How are the wifi and cell signals?

The cell and wifi signals are very limited. You will likely not have signal, and will not during the last half hour of your journey. However, there is WiFi at the venue.

Where is the retreat held?

NextGEN Retreat is held at Black Mountain Retreat Center in Cazadero, California (CA), outside of Guerneville, CA. For even more info, head on over to our accommodations page or over to Black Mountain Retreat Center’s website where you can learn more.

How do I connect with this year's attendees?
What is there to do at the camp in free time?

There is plenty of space to explore, walk around or keep to yourself. There is a garden and basketball court too. We will offer a group art project.

What should I expect from meals?

Black Mountain Retreat Center is well equipped to handle any and all dietary restrictions, dietary preferences, or dietary allergies. When you register there is the space to inform us about what you need from your meals, if anything changes for you, let us know asap!

How many attendees are there usually?

Well this year we have over 60 people registered. Over the other 7 retreats from 2015 to 2025, the average is 39 people. This year sets our record for highest attendance.

International? From what countries?

So far we have had attendees from USA, Canada, and the UK. This year we will welcome friends from Jamaica. We are always open and welcoming to attendees from other countries and we know of some other countries who have people waiting to turn 18 to come to their first retreat!
